Guitar chords are a simple way to produce melodies on the guitar. The foremost step in learning chords is for the player to learn about the strings on the guitar and which notes they produce. Once that is completed, they are ready to start playing.

C major is a basic guitar chord that is played using four fingers. The index finger is placed on the first fret on the b (second) string. Frets are small strips of metal on the guitar that helps the player identify the position of the notes.

The middle finger must rest on the second fret d (fourth) string, while the third finger rests on the third fret of the a (fifth) string to complete the chord. An important tip is while the player is strumming the chord, they should try to avoid playing the e (first) string.
